Many things to love about Fall in Portland; colorful foliage, harvest season, the crisp air on a morning bike ride, fog enveloping the Willamette. Here are a few of our favorite Fall happenings:

Trip out to the Gorge to see the brilliant colors of fall. The Columbia River Gorge is minutes away and in addition to changing leaves, it contains the best natural scenery in the world.

Wordstock Festival is held at the Convention Center, in October. It's an event which celebrates all things writing. With author readings, writer's workshops, kids' literary hijinx, this event is a chance to transform that which is typically a solitary activity into a party!

Portland Fashion Week has been referred to as "The Sundance" of fashion festivals; merging high fashion with music, art, community involvement and sustainable living.

Civil War - The colors of fall; pumpkin orange, earthen brown, lightning yellow and mallard green. Pick a side when the UO Ducks play the OSU Beavers, continuing a tradition started in 1894.
